Vision: Yoga For All

What if yoga was accessible for everyone?

As a practitioner of yoga for over a decade, Sydney has experienced firsthand the transformative mental and physical health benefits of a consistent yoga practice.  Her yoga practice has been a constant throughout family challenges, major surgery spanning three years, and while obtaining her college degree.

Inspired to provide open-access, high-quality, professional yoga instruction to practitioners of all backgrounds and abilities, Sydney has now returned to where her journey started: YouTube.  The development of a dedicated YouTube channel, Sydney Johnston Yoga, provides yoga philosophy, practice, and instruction available to a global audience at no charge.

Sydney’s mission is simple: everyone should be able to have access to a consistent yoga practice. Cost, physical ability, and time should never be barriers to entry.

Every class is sequenced, filmed, scripted, edited, and uploaded by Sydney herself.   By managing the entirety of video production, Sydney oversees and approves every moment of the content quality and standards of instruction before it is made public.

Sydney’s YouTube channel caters to a variety of skill levels, and videos provide progressive instruction with multiple pose variations and modifications demonstrated and verbally cued.  Her videos teach to a range of styles and specialty interests, including accessibility modifications, arm balances, and strengthening sequences.  Most videos are Sydney’s signature half-class, a thirty-minute practice (approximately half the length of a traditional studio session) designed to be on-demand for your schedule — whether that means early morning, during lunch break, or in the evening.  Sydney prides herself on filming in the intimate space of her own home, demonstrating that yoga is available anywhere, at any time, for everyone.
